The Brief

From May to September 2024, Wrexham Sounds pilot a pioneering AI Music Lab project for 13-19 year olds.

The AI Music Lab’s aim was to give users an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, a chance to experience develop their AI knowledge and skills and use some leading AI tools, ensuring young people in Wrexham are on the leading edge of this new wave of technology. As well as giving users the chance to use the latest tools on the market, the Lab sought to educate the users on how AI is and will be used both for good and nefarious purposes through all aspects of their lives and the wider world.

Industrial Standard Ltd was tasked with building a online platform capable of delivering short user friendly AI tasks to it’s users, monitoring their progress, and delivering a secure gated environment in tutors can share tasks and ideas, and where participants can share and comment on the content they create. On completion, users were awarded a certificate for their participation.

The AI Music Lab pilot project included 42 participants, from 13 to 19 years old learning to apply AI across Music, Video, Images, Writing, and concept generation.

FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW

As part of the Project, Industrial Standard Ltd implemented the following functionality:-

  • An online dynamic sign up form including parent/guardian consent
  • Open AI ChatGPT 4 and Dall-E 3 integration
  • Time and role based access to the AI Music lab
  • Weekly Usage Reports
  • A Learning Management Platform using learndash.com
  • Social Networking Functionality using BuddyBoss
  • An engaging user portal using the existing Wrexham Sounds Brand guidelines
